Panginyongan Journal of Social and Society is a peer-reviewed academic journal that focuses on interdisciplinary research in social dynamics, cultural identity, and community transformation within the Panginyongan context and its broader connections. The journal conceptualizes “Panginyongan” not only as a regional identity but as a socio-cultural framework rooted in Banyumasan values, local wisdom, and patterns of social interaction, while engaging with national and global discourses. It provides a platform for critical and innovative discussions on issues such as cultural studies, social change, religious moderation, law and society, socio-economic development, and the relationship between tradition and modernity.
The journal publishes conceptual, normative, and empirical studies that connect local knowledge with wider theoretical approaches in the social sciences, including topics such as kinship systems, customary law, Islamic social thought, community-based economies, education, and public policy. All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process in accordance with international academic standards. With an international orientation and open-access commitment, Panginyongan Journal of Social and Society aims to contribute to global scholarly discourse by positioning Panginyongan perspectives as an important lens for understanding contemporary social transformations.
